UROMI DIOCESE HOSTS BENIN PROVINCIAL C.M.O.

Members of the Benin Provincial Catholic Men Organization (C.M.O) recently held their meeting at Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Ekpoma in the Catholic Diocese of Uromi.
The meeting started with a concelebrated Holy Mass presided over by Very Rev. Fr. J.J. Onolemhemhen, the Uromi Diocesan Cum Provincial C.M.O. Chaplain, and Rev. Fr. Moses Aburime (O.C.D), Parish Priest of Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Ekpoma for the members of the provincial C.M.O and those of the Provincial sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Society who had their meeting also in the same venue.
Giving the homily at the Eucharistic celebration, the chaplain of both the Diocesan and the Provincial C.M.O Very Rev. Fr. J.J. Onolemhen appreciated God for granting members of both bodies journey mercies to Ekpoma for their respective meetings. He prayed God to direct their deliberations and charged them to be steadfast in their journey of evangelization. The Chaplain urged them not to be deterred in carrying their daily cross and charged them to shun the quest for materialism and return to God always in prayers as it was the season of Lent.
At the close of the Mass, the Parish Priest of Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Ekpoma Rev. Fr. Moses Aburime (O.C.D), appreciated the Chaplain for celebrating the Holy Mass for the two provincial bodies who were at the Parish to hold their meetings. He prayed God to grant all the members journey mercies back to their respective destinations.
Welcoming members to the meeting, Uromi Diocesan C.M.O President, Mr. S.A. Ukhurebor, who appreciated God for the journey mercies granted members, hinted that the Diocese has just been structured into five Deaneries with 36 Parishes and Mass Centres.
Highlighting some of the major achievements recorded by the Diocesan C.M.O. Mr. S.A. Ukhurebor pointed out that the executive which was constituted and inaugurated on the 19th of the February, 2017 has had two expanded Exco meetings which witnessed the presentation of the programme of activities Cum budget proposal for 2017 by the Diocesan C.M.O President, active participation in the celebration of the 2017 National Laity Week, courtesy calls on the Deans of the five Deaneries with interactions on the way forward for the CMO in their respective Deaneries and active participation in the celebration of the 2017 Cathedraticum amongst others.
In his address, the provincial CMO President, Comr. Egerega G.E.O. highlighted the challenges faced by the provincial Executive and the sad event that happened to the National body (i.e. the death of the National President of C.M.O.N Dr. Basil Adebayo). The meeting also featured presentation of reports by various Dioceses present which included Dioceses of Auchi, Uromi, Warri, Bomadi Vicariate and the Arch Diocese of Benin, while Isele-Uku was not represented at the meeting. Meanwhile, next meeting would be hosted by the Diocese of Issele-Uku.
The meeting came to a close with the closing prayer and blessing led by the provincial Cum Diocesan Chaplain Very Rev.Fr. J.J. Onolemhemhen.
