On November 6, 2014, Pope Francis graciously announced the elevation of Msgr. Donatus Aihmiosion Ogun as the Bishop-elect of Uromi Diocese, to continue with the work of shepherding the flock of Uromi Diocese to greater heights. Bishop Ogun was ordained and installed as the second bishop of the Diocese of Uromi on January 31, 2015.
