Remarkably, on February 1, 2017, the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, Uhiele – Ekpoma, had their new Tabernacle dedicated by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. D.A. Ogun, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Uromi. The parishioners were joyful by the presence of the bishop in their midst and rare blessings they received from the benediction celebrated by His Lordship. During the celebration the Blessed sacrament was transferred from the old Tabernacle to the new One. The opportunity is provided now for parishioners to adore the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and pray for their needs in an orderly manner and at the convenience.
That same day, His Lordship also laid a Nursery/Primary School foundation stone of a storey building. He praised the efforts of the church and their support and cooperation so far given to their parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Dr Patrick Ekbohte. He admonished with enthusiasm that they should sincerely, and without any reservation seek the assistance of their sons and daughters in order to be able to accomplish the laudable project they have initiated. At the end His Lordship prayed for the grace to bring to fulfillment what they have started, and gave his final Blessing.
