In an official circular dated July 10, 2026, the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, His Excellency, Most Rev. Michael F. Crotty, announced that, with the approval of Pope Leo, the Dicastery for Evangelization has appointed the Bishop of Uromi, Most Rev. Donatus Ogun, O.S.A., as the Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Benin City, pending the appointment of a new Archbishop.
We warmly congratulate Bishop Ogun on this important appointment and pray that Almighty God will grant him abundant grace, wisdom, strength, and good health as he faithfully carries out this new responsibility in the service of the Church. May the Holy Spirit guide and sustain him in his ministry.
