The Buddy Ewaleifo’s 10th Annual Choral Competition for parishes in the Catholic Dioceses of Uromi was held recently at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Igueben.
In the keenly contested competition, Mary the Queen Parish choir outshine the other Parishes in the Diocese to emerge the overall winner, while St. Anthony Cathedral, Uromi, and the Host Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Igueben, came 2nd and 3rd respectively. The competition which holds annually, was sponsored by Mrs. Buddy Ewaleifo in memory of her Late Husband Sir. Buddy Thaddeus Ewaleifo.
Receiving the trophy from the Choir Master of Mary the Queen Parish Choir, Mr Augustine Okojie, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Moses Aburime (OCD) appreciated the Choir for their brilliant performance and charged them to collaborate with the Parish Priest to make the Parish stronger.
Responding to the Parish Priest’s remarks, the Choir Master, pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the Parish Priest and promised to work with the Laity for optima development of the Parish. The gathering climaxed with closing prayer by the parish priest and entertainment of the choristers and guests.
Also in attendance were the Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. E.E. Azeke (KSM), the President of Mary the Queen Parish Laity Council, Mr. S.A Ukhurebor and the Vice Chairman, Parish liturgical Committee, Mr. C. Ohonsi among others.
