Following her doggedness to the spirit of her motto: “The Best or Nothing”, Lumen Christi International High School, Uromi, has for the second time achieved another academic milestone as she bagged the “HFL – Young Achievers Award” from Hallmark of Labour Foundation during their 20th Anniversary and 2016 Role Model Awards ceremony, held On Sunday, May 22, 2016, in Lagos.
The award which consists of the giving of a plaque captioned: “HLF – Young Achievers Award for the Best Performing School in WASSCE 2014” and 10 brand new computer set were received by the Vice Principal – Rev. Fr Amos Abhulimen, accompanied by the school’s Guidance and Counsellor – Mr Ohens and three Students, on behalf of the Principal – Rev. Fr Dr Theophilus Itaman .
Elated by this repeated honour and recognition given to the school at the ceremony, Rev. Fr Amos Abhulimen, while giving his acceptance speech on behalf of the Principal, expressed gratitude to the Foundation and commended their good works and efforts geared towards encouraging the young ones in particular, as well as resuscitating the dying educational system in general. He also congratulated them on the success of their 20th anniversary celebration.
Other individuals who also received awards on the occasion were well-meaning Nigerians with great repute. Some of them were: Hon. Justice Mariam Aloma ( Award for Exemplary Leadership), Alhaji Lateef Jakande (Award for Excellence in Leadership and Good Governance), Prof. Itsejuwa Sagay (Award for Exemplary/Courageous Service to Advancement of Nigerian Legal System), Chief (Mrs) Olutoyin Olakunri (Role Model Award for Outstanding Contributions), H.E. Prof. Ibrahim Agboola ( Role Model Award as Nigeria’s Most Outstanding Int’l Icon).
