Prayer is the key, the key that opens doors of blessings. Conscious of this fundamental truth, the Laity of Uromi Diocese have instituted an annual Prayer Day when they all come together to pray for the Church, their families, the nation and many others. The 2019 edition of the Annual Prayer day which started in December 2014 was held on Saturday, 22nd June 2019 at St. Benedict Catholic Church Ubiaja.
The theme of the programme was “Call to me and I will answer you (Jeremiah 33:3)”. In his welcome address, Hon. J.A. Abhulimen, the President of Uromi Diocesan Laity Council noted that as a family we need to seek the intervention of God in many areas affecting us as individuals and groups since He is the only one who can save us from the various problems confronting humanity.
The 2019 annual Prayer Day featured exposition of the Blessed Sacrament/Adoration, recitation of the Holy Rosary, Confessions, Praise and Worship, Talk, intercessory prayers and Holy Mass. The Holy Mass was celebrated the Diocesan Chaplain/Vicar for Laity, Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Ehidiamen and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Leonard Elomien.
May God bless the Clergy, Consecrated persons and Laity of Uromi Diocese. May we all be salt of the earth and light of the world.
