On the Feast of the Holy Family which comes up on Sunday, 30 December 2018, Young Catholic Women/Men Organisation of Nigeria will be inaugurated in all the Parishes and Mass Centres in the Diocese of Uromi. This development stems from the pastoral initiative of the Chief Shepherd of Uromi Diocese, Most Rev. Donatus Ogun who is committed to ensuring that young married men and women are adequately catered for by the Church. It has been observed that majority of young married men and women hardly identify with the Catholic Women/Men organisation. This is due to several factors. One of such is the sense of uneasiness they feel in the midst of the elderly who have been in marriage for several decades. Some of these are their own parents, if they worship in the same parish with them.
In the early years of their married couples need to be given all the pastoral assistance they need to build and maintain healthy families; families where peace, happiness, the spirit of collaboration, tolerance etc are present. It is a sacred duty to do all we can to foster the good of the family since healthy families are the building blocks of a functional society.
May God bless our families and make them reflect what He intends them to be, a community of life and love. May He equally bless the initiatives and efforts of the Church geared towards the fostering of the wellbeing of the family. Amen
Details concerning membership and modus operandi of this organisation will be communicated soonest.
