Catechists of Uromi Diocese recently held their annual retreat at Brother Roman Centre, Ekpoma. The event spanned from January 24, through 27, 2017. A total of 64 Catechists took part in the spiritual exercise.
The Role and Mission of the Catechist in the Field of Evangelisation, was the central theme of the retreat, directed by Rev. Frs John Okebule, Joseph Okojie, both from the Seminary of All Saints. Also Frs Frank Okha, Christopher Ehidiamen and Sr Marie O’Halloran RJM.
At the close of the retreat, elections were held to provide for a set of new leaders to pilot the afairs of the association at the expiration of the tenure of the out-going diocesan leadership, and the following emerged as the new officers:

P.R.O. II – Cate. Unuane Matthew – (Ubiaja Deanery)
P.R.O. III – Cate. Akhere Okhiulu – (Ekpoma Deanery)
P.R.O. IV – Cate. Oki Patrick – (Irrua Deanery)

The Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr Francis Okhah, who was on ground to witness the election process, appreciated highly, the efforts of the outgoing leadership and the progress made by them, and urged them and all to contribute their wealth of experience to the new leadership for fruitfulness. The new executive members were encouraged to work hard, plan well, attend meetings, be prayerful, united and discern together for the growth of the Association in the diocese.
