The month of May, like that of October, is traditional dedicated to a special devotion to Mary our dear mother. The just concluded May Devotion was well celebrated in the Diocese of Uromi. In Parishes and Mass Centres across the length and breadth of the Diocese, the faithful converged on each day of the month to pray the Holy Rosary. Each week had particular prayer intentions. On Mondays and Fridays there were also Talks and Spiritual Reflections.
As a Diocese, the faithful of Uromi Diocese gathered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ogwa to conclude this special devotion with a Rosary Carnival. This celebration which was well attended took place on Saturday, 1st June 2019. The celebration featured Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Rosary Procession and the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass.
The Holy Mass was presided at by the Vicar General of the Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Francis Omonlumen who represented the Bishop of Uromi Diocese, Most Rev. Donatus Ogun. It was concelebrated by priests from across the Diocese.
May the graces and blessings of this divine encounter continue to abide with us and with our land. Amen
Through Mary Our Mother, we succeed.
