October 14, 2016, became a great day of joy for the entire people of Uromi Diocese as two of their daughters were found worthy to take their Perpetual Profession of Religious Vows in the Religious Institute of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Sr Rosemary Omolumen (SSH) and Sr Stella Odigie (SSH), both of St Patrick Catholic Church, Ebhoiyi – Uromi, took their vows alongside three other classmates at St Theresa Catholic Church, Benin City, in a Mass presided over by Archbishop Augustine Akubeze. Also present was Archbishop Emeritus Patrick Ekpu, Priests and Religious from Uromi Diocese in their overwhelming numbers, and parishioners of St Patrick, Ebhoiyi, with their chattered buses.
Sr Rosemary Omolumen, who happens to be the younger sister of Very Rev. Fr Francis Omolumen, the Vicar General of Uromi, hails from Ubierumu – Oke, while Sr Stella Odigie hails from Ukpekimiokolo, both of Uromi.
In his homily, Archbishop Akubeze admonished them to be faithful to God and steadfast in adhering to the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, a promise they have made to God.
