ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, EKPOMA HOLDS CHOIR WEEK

From July 21st to July 27th, 2025, the St. Gregory Choir experienced a truly joyous and unforgettable week of celebration, learning, fellowship, and worship.

The one week celebration was packed full of edifying and exciting activities which included music lessons, prayer session, dinner party and love feast, cultural sunday, and lots more.

The celebration provided the choristers the privilege of being taught by the esteemed Mr. Arewo Uwade Ronald, who enlightened them on the true meaning of music. The lecture reawakened the understanding that an ideal music is “an organized sound that is harmonized and pleasing to the ear and rendered in praise to God, and for the salvation of souls.” It was both inspiring and educational.

There was a moment of spiritual renewal as the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Philip Elolen, took the participants through a prayer session, and reminding them of the importance of prayer in their ministry as choristers.

In the spirit of festivity, the choristers also came together for a Dinner Party. It was a fun-filled moment of Love Feast which strengthened their fraternal bond as one family.
The celebration reached its climax with the Cultural Sunday– The Grand Finale. All choristers were dressed in their beautiful cultural attires, showcasing the cultural diversity within the christian community. All songs during the Mass were rendered in various dialects, expressing the unity of the body of Christ admist our cultural difference.

The St. Gregory choir is indeed grateful to God, for the grace and privileges bestowed on them in actualizing a successful celebration. Their heartfelt gratitude also goes to the parish priests, Very Rev. Fr. Francis Omolumen, and his assistant, Rev. Fr. Philip Elolen, as well as their supporters, and the entire parishioners of St. Gregory parish for their support.
God bless you all richly. Amen!
